MichiganSummitBadge2013They’ve been nominated by co-workers and fellow organizers to be recognized for the long hours, hard work, and results they’ve achieved as community organizers. The 2013 Michigan Summit will be on Saturday, June 8 on MSU’s campus at the beautifully remodeled, Silver LEED certified Brody Hall in East Lansing. Join us and get energized, inspired and to make connections for change!

In addition to revealing the winner on June 8th, we have an exciting set of workshops and speakers at this year’s Summit, including co-keynote speakers UAW President Bob King and Leslie Moody, Executive Director of the innovative non-profit Partnership for Working Families. Come join us at the Michigan Summit on Saturday, June 8th to recognize the final five nominees and learn the identity of the winner of the Organizer of the Year award.

Our five finalists, in no particular order, for the 2013 Organizer of the Year Award are:

  • Anita Dawson, A. Philip Randolph Institute
  • Mike Berkowitz, Sierra Club, Michigan Chapter
  • Danielle Atkinson, Mothering Justice
  • Deb Williamson, Michigan Roundtable for Diversity and Inclusion
  • John Keserich, Planned Parenthood Advocates of Michigan

We have five great candidates, and the winner of the Organizer of the Year Award will be announced at a lunchtime ceremony during the Michigan Summit on June 8th. Who will it be? Well, you still have time to register for the Michigan Summit and it’s easy as 1-2-3 to do it online!
