Progress Michigan Calls on Rep. Lisa Lyons to Stop Her Outright Hypocrisy
LANSING – Today citizens’ watchdog group Progress Michigan called on Rep. Lisa Lyons to practice what she preaches and put an end to her shameless hypocrisy. Lyons is calling for a letter-grade system to rank Michigan’s school districts instead of the color-coded system proposed by the Department of Education.
“Rep. Lyons gets an ‘F’ for failing to support schools, students, and teachers across Michigan,” said Jessica Tramontana, Communications Director of Progress Michigan. “She put big corporations before the concerns of her constituents – at the cost of Michigan’s public education system – and now our children are paying the price. Shame on Lyons for calling teachers ‘hogs and pigs,’ while earning nearly three times the average Michigander’s salary, and enjoying her annual taxpayer funded summer vacation. It’s time for Rep. Lyons to demonstrate real leadership, practice what she preaches, and get her priorities straight.”
