Mothering Justice is a statewide organization in Michigan dedicated to empowering mothers to influence policy on behalf of themselves and their families. Through advocacy, leadership development, voter empowerment and promoting family friendly advocacy. Mothering justice raises the voices of mothers and helps them become policy shapers. The overall goal of this organization to have a well-organized group of mothers that can engage fellow parents and lawmakers around a variety of issues that affect working families.
Everyday decisions are being made about our state. Lawmakers allocate resources based on priorities, but do they have the same priorities as you? Without everyone paying their fair share, our schools and community suffer. The Mothering Justice Fellowship is a 7-month program designed to train mothers and others on how they can be better advocates for families in Michigan. This fellowship is a perfect for people with little to no organizing experience who want to learn more about organizing and statewide advocacy work. Fellows will participate in half-day trainings once a month and work in their community between trainings. Work will include (but not be limited to) conducting community meetings, phone banking collecting stories, training volunteers and canvassing.
