LANSING – Progress Michigan released the following statement on a federal judge issuing a preliminary injunction against the ban on benefits for domestic partners signed into law by Gov. Snyder in 2011:

“Today’s ruling is just the first step in a battle that will ultimately be won by common sense, preserving the right of every Michigander to equal protection under the law,” said Jessica Tramontana with Progress Michigan. “Rick Snyder owes an apology to the thousands of state employees and their families who were targeted by this hateful ban enacted by radical right-wing politicians. No one should face state-sponsored discrimination because of who they love.”
